Temat: Groban's New CD?
You're forgiven. http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Josh's new cd comes out in November (the 11th) and is called Closer. It's been in the works for a while now, but that update with set date and title are just this week. You can see that bare amount of info on Amazon... hopefully at some point a cover will go up too! *grin*

Temat: Michael's picture outside Virgin Records on Suset
I noticed the other day, Michael's 'Come Fly With Me' huge poster/sign was taken down! It had been up there, since...well at least 9 months or more! Then I remembered last year when I visited LA, his 'Michael BublĂŠ' huge poster/sign had been up for a while too.

For those of you who haven't seen it, it's HUGE. It's on the outside wall of Virgin records on Suset, kind of near the top and I would estimate it to be 5x7 feet...and his name on the cd cover is lit up at night...It's the only thing on that side of the building.

Why did they take it down? Did his promotional time expire? PINKABOO, do know anything about this? I always enjoyed driving in Hollywood and saying hello to him as I drove by! It certainly was great marketing because you could NOT miss it, and both of his albums were up there forever! I would assume the new CD will be displayed there as well...

Temat: Feedback
THanks for the info Paul E. hope you feel better soon!
I hope no one minds if i blow of some steam here; i also read yesterday in a review similar remarks of how Michael is "below-average-Sinatra-wannabe". http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
OK i wish MB skepticals would get this straight:
Michael buble is Michael Buble. No one-i repeat-NO ONE IS EVER GOING TO BE SINATRA, anyone who tries is practicing to be in a tribute/lounge act; to be in a show or just practicing to be an impersonator (like the Elvis one's in Vegas).
I can't wait for his album to come out so ppl can get off his back. I'm actually quite glad, he isn't doing anymore sinatra covers for this
album, because i'm tired of ppl saying he is a wannabe. Michael is smart enough to know and say that there will never be another sinatra. Ok sorry for the outburst, but wanted to let that out...

Temat: It's Official from David Foster's Website!
I don't think soupy meant any disrespect to the Green One.

Michael should consider another Kermie classic "Happy Feet" too! I can't picture the little tap dance already. http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And my fave "Movin' Right Along" with Fozzie Bear.

Or "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday" with Gonzo The Great.

Actually why doesn't Michael just cover the entire Muppets repertoire? The options are endless!! http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I'm sure Michael could do a fabulous impersonation of the Swedish Chef too! With Animal (Bill W) on drums!

P.S I'm not a Muppets fan or anything, can't you tell? Maybe we should start a whole new thread entitled "In Defence of Kermie".

Temat: Yet more song ideas . . . .
I just bought Michael's CD and absolutely love it. I thought "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" was a great idea and an excellent cover.

There have already been so many threads and ideas posted here I almost feel guilty adding another, but I wanted to add my own 2 cents' worth and agreement with some of ideas I've seen posted already (there were so many I didn't know where to begin!)

You Don't Know Me
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
Look for a Star (an older, perhaps more obscure tune)
I'm in the Mood for Love (one of my all-time favorites!)
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
If I Fell (Beatles)
It's Been a Long, Long Time
So Happy Together
I Get a Kick Out of You
Dream a Little Dream of Me

Just some more idea. http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Temat: Michael Buble Songbook?...
I bought the songbook last week at 'Archambault' and am really glad to have the nice picture of Michael on the cover! (same as on the CD - but larger!)

As Megan posted, the songbook includes the original scores and not the ones arranged for him. Most of them are in different keys than what's heard on the album, but only 1/2 or 1 tone/step in difference.

Maybe next time I can ask Alan Chang to let me see his music sheets! http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Temat: It's early..but I already have a song request for the next album!
You too DaniGlitters?? I love Moody's Mood For Love too and It'll be so wonderful if Michael can do a cover of the song.

And that's how exactly I described to my friends MB's new cd: GORGEOUS!!! http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Temat: new songs on cd?
I do believe that the songs are all covers... or remakes of old songs. "Old" being fairly broad, since some of them are twenty years younger than others...

And, his sister said he plays hockey. http://michaelbuble.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Plus, he's obviously got some acting in him, with the movie and appearences on TV.

Temat: Channel Strips for my Tascam US2400

I wasn't planning on having the channel strips follow the tascam in mackie control mode.  I was planning on using the channel strips more like a BCR 2000, where in Nuendo you can program individual parameters to each encoder.  Would that be possible?

Yes. you can. But it seems a little excessive. In nuendo you can set up banks for a control surface, so theres no need for so many encoders. Remember you've only got 2 hands  ;D. And it seems silly to me to add it to the top of the tascam if it's not really going to be a channel strip

The displays on each encoder would be very difficult. Nuendo would not be able to send the name information to the 64e (only mackie control does this).

Maybe... you could store the name of each CC/channel in the 64e, and use it for the display. But this would be a massive programming task, not to mention very difficult. You'd be better off writting a custom application.
(64e can already display names on the main LCD if you use banksticks).

Even if you did that, you'd need to devise a way to connect so many displays. Perhaps a led matrix?? This will also need a complex custom driver.

An alternate thought.... For the big real desk feel
Perhaps you could break a 64e into sections.
eg. 12 encoders + 12 buttons for eq.
4 encoders + 2 buttons for compression.
# encoders + # buttons for your favourate reverb.
etc....

With 3 x 64e's you should be able to cover a large chunk of your favourate plug-ins

thx Durisian...I appreciate your help.  Will definitely take your advice into consideration.
